Norlys was founded in 1953 in Oslo, Norway - a manufacturer of high quality outdoor lighting for the professional lighting business.

Our Scandinavian manufactures, all even larger than our largest markets today, are naturally not obliged to develop products that are perfectly resistant to the harsh Scandinavian climatic conditions. Huge variations in temperature, very strong wind and salty atmosphere take out all low quality products within a few months.Norlys products are not only perfectly resistant, but are covered with a long-term anti-corrosion guarantee. There is no mystery about the durability of the product: all you need is high-quality raw material, the most modern industrial tools and many years of experience. Norlys specializes in the production of aluminum, steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel and copper or a combination of several metals in one body.

Painted bodies take advantage of our high-level, multi-stage surface treatment before powder coating. This is the key to perfect corrosion resistance. Our very large range of galvanized steel bodies offers a completely different approach. In decorative outdoor lighting, prescribers are passionate about this metallic aspect, which gives them new ideas, including in-depth protection, thanks to immersion in a liquid bath.

The galvanized iron-zinc alloy leads to even harder than the steel itself and protects against all injuries, scratches, accidental shocks and corrosion. About 25 years of life of the galvanized product are often observed. Zinc shows very comfortable behavior in different atmospheres, the corrosion rate remains satisfactorily low, but depending on the hardness of the environment (city, coast, industrially polluted sites).

The best raw material, but also the best finish of the product is part of the overall aspect of quality. Many Norlys fixtures are double insulated (class II), which allows a higher level of security, especially valued in the private market.
